The Mosman FC Academy program provides the opportunity for players to train and play in a development environment focused on game-related skill acquisition and decision-making in line with the FFA National Curriculum under the guidance of appropriately qualified coaches.
Trials for 2018 Academy teams
In 2018, Mosman FC is again expanding its coaching program to provide further opportunities for our players to develop.
Trials will be held in November to determine places in these teams. All players who will be in these age groups in 2018 are invited to trial for the Mosman FC Academy and Youth Teams.
Club coaches will conduct the trial process under the guidance of the club’s Director of Coaching, Drew Taylor. Coaches will be looking at each player’s technical ability, attitude and willingness to learn and improve. In the initial trial, players will be assessed on the four core skills identified in the FFA NAtional Curriculum (1v1, running with the ball, striking the ball, first touch). Second trials will be games-based. Players should attend BOTH trials.
Boys U9-U13 Academy Teams and Girls U9-U14 Academy Teams The Academy Program (U9-U12) allows players to both train (twice per week) and play under the guidance of a professional club coach under teh technical direction of the Club’s Director of Coaching, Drew Taylor. The Academy program also involves players participating in a skills camp in the April school holidays and the Kanga Cup in Canberra in July.
ONLY PLAYERS WHO ARE COMMITTED TO TRAINING TWICE PER WEEK AND CAN ATTEND ALL GAMES ON SATURDAYS(Boys)/SUNDAYS(Girls) SHOULD TRIAL FOR THE ACADEMY.
Trials and gradings for non-academy teams U9-U13 will take place in February 2018.
Boys U14-U16 Youth Division 1 Teams
Mosman FC also intends to field Division 1 teams in the U14, U15 and U16 Youth age groups. Players are expected to train AT LEAST one time per week with a second optional training offered.
Players will trial for the age group for which they are eligible in 2018.
The trials will be held at Georges Heights and Middle Head Ovals.
