Mosman FC believes that placing kids into graded teams is generally the optimal development path for young players so they can develop along with players of similar ability and make new friends. We do, however, recognise that social connections are also a factor in kids’ enjoyment of football.
For kids playing U9-U11, we strongly recommend that players participate in the Grading Day so that they can be placed into a graded team. From the grading day, players will be grouped with players of similar ability for the upcoming season. Any remaining Academy spots will also be filled from the grading day. Note that only players participating in the grading day can join a graded team.
Players who have a whole team of friends already organised and therefore do not wish to be graded can register as part of a social team and are not required to attend grading day. If this is the team’s intention, you must notify David Miller prior to February 18th.
We require all youth players from U12 to U15 to participate in the Grading Day so we can form the teams effectively.
U16 and U18 players will have a separate grading process.
