General information

Junior teams play a competitive round of matches, with each age group graded into divisions so that teams can be matched against others with similar levels of skill and experience. All the normal rules of soccer apply, including offside, penalities etc.

Match Information

Be on time for the match. Players need 30 minutes in order to warm up and for the coach to choose the team. Players need to inform the coach or manager of any planned or unplanned absences as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made to field a full team each week. If the coach knows in advance that the team will be short of players for a Saturday match, they should contact the age group co-ordinator to try and borrow another player from another team in the same age group (See note on substitutes below). All teams are expected to be at their scheduled ground. Cancellations or alterations to fixtures can only be made by the MFWA.

Rules

Referees

The MWFA will appoint official referees to all junior fixtures where possible. If there is no referee, managers or officials of the competing teams should appoint a person to control the game.

The home team provides the Referees Card. If you are the home team, the manager should complete the team listing ready for the manager of the opposing team to complete and check. If you are the away team, the manager of the opposing team will hand the Card to you for completion.

Manager's Role

The manager should check the opposition's names on the Referees Card against the names on the Registration Cards (in black folder) then the players against their photographs (this is to determine eligibility to play in the game - same age group or lower, same division or lower) , then organise his or her own team's Registration Cards so they can be checked by the opposition's manager.

Each manager then signs the Referees Card under the column listing the opposing team. (If in doubt as to the eligibility of a listed player, mark as STA (Subject to Adjudication) and submit an explanatory report to our Club Secretary.

At the end of the game, the Managers must sign the Referees Card to confirm the result.

Results:

All game results, whether you are home or away, need to be sent to the Competition Secretary (see here for full details).

Match Cards

Match cards for HOME games need to be signed by the Ref with and put in the letter box at Georges Heights.

Cromer Games

If you are playing home games at the MWFA grounds at Cromer park you can put your match card in the white letter box at the back of the MWFA clubhouse immediately after your game. You must send a message to the Competition Secretary with your result and confirming you have done this.

Failure to submit results on time will result in (1) the result not being recorded in the competition table and (2) an MWFA fine which may then be passed on to the team.
