There is an all girl competition within the junior division of the club for girls in the under 8 to under 18 age groups. Referred to as “ladies teams” by the MWFA, the all-girl teams play on Sunday mornings.
Girls are eligible to dual register and play in both the girls competition on Sundays and the mixed competition on Saturdays. The Junior Division club rules and codes of conduct apply to the girls teams.
Mosman expects to field teams in each of the age groups in the 2016 winter season:
The U8 and U9 girls-only competitions are being added in 2016 and will be played in the same format as the boys (mixed) competition, i.e. 7-a-side on a pitch approximately 50m*40m. This division of MiniRoos (FFA name for small-sided football format i.e. U6-U11) will not keep league tables but, depending on the number of teams, may be graded.
The U10 and U11 teams will play 9-a-side on 3/4 side pitches where the emphasis is more on individual skill development than results. There are no league tables kept for these age groups.
The U12 – U18 teams play 11-a-side on a full size pitch under standard football rules. While the emphasis remains on individual skill development and the early stages of game training, the girls play in a competitive league where competition tables are kept.
