Home Ground Information
Set-up and Pack-away – General
Each week, the first team playing on each ground is responsible for the set up and take down the goalposts, nets and corner posts.
Home teams playing the first and last games of the day at Georges Heights Oval are responsible for putting up the goalposts, nets and corner posts. These are kept in the store room with the roller shutter. Home teams playing the last games of the day are responsible for returning these to the store room and stacking them neatly in the spaces allocated. Equipment must be packed away properly to ensure easy access for the next rostered team. The canteen operator has the key.
The Under 9 coaches will be advised at the first training session as to the removal and pack away of the goal posts.
Home teams playing the first games of the day at Middle Head Oval are responsible for putting up the nets and corner posts which are stored in the Referee’s Room, located between the two change rooms. The canteen operator has the key.
Home teams playing the first games of the day at Allan Border Oval are responsible for putting up the goalposts, nets and corner posts. The nets and corner posts are stored in the change rooms. The goalposts are padlocked to the sight screens. The canteen operator has the keys.
Georges Heights and Allan Border ovals have canteens open on match days (there is a cafe overlooking Middle Head Oval). Tea, coffee, drinks and snacks are available. No glass bottles are allowed at any grounds for obvious reasons. By all means take along your own drinks but use cans or plastic bottles, and please make sure you either put your empties in the bins provided or take them home with you.
It is a requirement of Mosman Council that we take down goalposts after training and after games on Allan Border Oval, Middle Head Oval and Georges Heights Oval. Following the sad death of a child, national guidelines have been brought in to prevent further accidents. Anyone setting up and handling goalposts must do so in accordance with the Goalpost Procedures for the Oval. Look out for these procedures posted at the ovals.
