The Mosman FC Performance Program is an in-house development program that provides the opportunity for players to train and play in a development environment focused on game-related skill acquisition and decision-making in line with the FA National Curriculum and under the guidance of appropriately experienced/qualified coaches.
Trials will be held on 4/5th and 11/12th of November and will be “game based” across various formats (i.e. 8v8, 4v4, 2v2 and 1v1) with players assessed by a group of qualified and experienced coaches against the following attributes:
- body and ball control;
- 1v1 duelling;
- game understanding; and
- striking the ball (passing and shooting)
Players should attend ALL trials for their age group whenever possible.
Teams will be formed in the following categories, with the programs designed to meet the objectives of the club coaching philosophy.
Performance Teams
Based on the current "academy" idea. The teams will be formed after a trials process and will be selected to be the strongest combination of players possible in their age group. Training will be twice a week, plus the coach will be there to manage the team on game day. There is a big emphasis on developing the team to be competitive and see more success through the performance of the team.
Development Teams
This will be for those that just fall short of making it into the above teams. Training will be once a week and they will follow a similar structure and program to the Performance teams. They will also have their coach in attendance on game day.
Social Teams
For social teams who struggle to find a volunteer coach, we can provide a club coach for their weekly training session. They will not be in attendance at the game.
